Tabby - Guardian of Misunderstood Girls

My childhood was very painful. I struggled with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. But through it all, I had my dear friend Tabby.

I was five years old when I picked the prettiest kitten from a litter and named her Tabby. We did not get along right away. She tended to be impatient with children. But once I learned how treat her with gentleness, we formed a bond. She slept on my bed at night, and seemed to seek my attention more than any other human's. For years, she was one of the greatest comforts in my life.

I don't believe in a literal afterlife. I don't think the dead find rest no matter how much we wish it on them. But I believe that all things on this earth are connected. When something dies, it leaves behind echoes that reverberate in the things it was connected to.

Tabby's existence as a cat has ended. To one of her echoes, I give this name: Tabby - Guardian of Misunderstood Girls. May she reverberate for a long time yet.
